When James Hoffa, president of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, looks at the Tea Party today, he flashes back to 1964 and sees the John Birch Society.

"The Tea Party, these right wingers are basically the modern-day John Birch Society," he told U.S. News. "They are being extremists."

The John Birch Society gained traction in the earl 60s with its vehemently anti-communist rhetoric and distrust in government.

Hoffa says just like in the early 60s when the John Birch Society pushed for Barry Goldwater, who was the more conservative candidate, to be the Republican presidential nominee, the Tea Party has forced its the GOP further to the right.

"It's just like in 1964 when Goldwater ran against Johnson and the John Birch society was calling the shots."

The SDS/Weather Underground/Jane Fonda protests WERE PRO-Communist riots.

The government DOES need to be kept in check and the welfare state has NOT improved lives, it has created a dependency class that subsists on the federal teat for generations.

Hoffa and Mao-Tse Tung are almost the same person.
Except one was a China-man.

While the Teamsters are big donors, Hoffa says it's an unfair comparison. "There is no million dollar guy on the Teamsters giving money," he says. "Everyone puts in $50 or $20 and they find a way to get the job done."

No Gates or Soros or Streisand or Winfrey or...

He says they are appealing to the far extremists.

Where is Marxism on this scale of “extremism” vs. centrism?

Where is GW Bush’s legacy on this scale of “extremism” vs. Romney’s positions?

Wow these left wing nuts still think it’s a good thing to insult the Tea Party? Who does that get excited except for the voters on KOS and DU and the media? I mean, how many elections and candidates do the Tea Party have to win/elect before these idiots realize it’s not a good thing to provoke them?
Grass Roots for the win!!

Teamsters are the American Khmer Rouge (because I said so).

Is there anyone with less moral authority than a union leader?

In 2005, Hoffa led the Teamsters out of the AFL-CIO and into the more radical breakaway labor federation, the SEIU-endorsed Change to Win coalition. During the years leading up to that split, the AFL-CIO had become increasingly radical. Then-president John Sweeney, a member of the neo-communist group Democratic Socialists of America, had rescinded a longstanding rule preventing Communist Party members from holding leadership positions within the federation and the unions belonging to it.

Sweeney had also instituted the “Union Summer” training program which required its young participants to regurgitate Marxist boilerplate “that we produce the world’s wealth, that we belong to the only class with a future, that our class will end all oppression.” But none of this was radical enough for Hoffa, who also criticized the AFL-CIO for being insufficiently aggressive in recruiting new members. “In our view, we must have more union members in order to change the political climate that is undermining workers’ rights in this country,” said Hoffa. “The AFL-CIO has chosen the opposite approach.”

By Hoffa’s reckoning, “Wall Street’s greed, stupidity and fraud” was chiefly responsible for creating America’s economic crisis of 2008. In the fall of 2011 Hoffa strongly supported the Occupy Wall Street movement, which excoriated the financial sector as irredeemably corrupt, and he boasted that Teamsters members “all over the country are participating in Occupy Wall Street events.”

When introducing President Barack Obama at a Labor Day rally in 2011, Hoffa shouted, “We got to keep an eye on the battle that we face: The war on workers. And you see it everywhere, it is the Tea Party.” “Let’s take these son[s] of bitches out and give America back to an America where we belong,” he added. After the event, Hoffa told ABC News that conservatives and Tea Party activists “want to roll the clock back to about 1900.”

When Wisconsin voters in 2011 gave their Republican governor Scott Walker a clear mandate to cut public spending, Hoffa lashed out. In February 2011 he characterized Walker’s modest proposal that state workers shoulder a small percentage of the costs for their healthcare plans and pensions as “a vindictive attack” that was part of a “union-busting” campaign and a “one-sided class war.”

Hoffa is a moron. More proof he is where he is strictly because of his last name, not because of brains.

Union leader, Jimmy Hoffa Jr, has an estimated net worth of $2 million. Hoffa gained his net worth as the General President of International of Brotherhood of Teamsters. Hoffa was also an attorney for the Teamsters from the late sixties to the early nineties. As a youngster, Hoffa would regularly attended Teamsters meetings and events with his father, the late Jimmy Hoffa and, on his 18th birthday, he became a Teamster member. The rest was history.

Well, here’s the problem with Hoffa making such comments:

Most people under the age of, oh, 55 to 60, have NO idea who the JBS was in American politics in the pre 1970’s era.

He might as well be talking about martians in US politics. Younger voters, especially liberals, will be saying “Huh? What?”

The society upholds an originalist interpretation of the U.S. Constitution, which it identifies with fundamental Christian principles, seeks to limit governmental powers, and opposes wealth redistribution, and economic interventionism. It not only opposes the practices it terms collectivism, totalitarianism, and communism, but socialism and fascism as well.

As opposed to liberals who sanction every one.
