Again, the argument here is that we are saved by grace, not by works. The irony in this discussion is that Mormonism is all about works, not about salvation by grace only. And yet some Christians argue that because a born-again Christian might be a member of the Mormon Church, he must not be saved. So his work of being in the wrong church or doing the wrong thing keeps him from salvation. That’s a Mormon-esque works-based argument for salvation, not a Biblical one.

That’s complete nonsense. What you are basically telling me is that a Christian can still be “born again” by denying Jesus Christ and embracing a perverted Gospel. Would you give this ridiculous premise to the Apostle Paul, too?:
Gal 1:6-9 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: (7) Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. (8) But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. (9) As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
