I"ve never seen a good reason to move there ~ doesn't rain enough, winters aren't cold enough, you changed languages from English to Spanish, beaches are crowded, surfing beaches are dangerous, housing is too expensive, salaries are too low, cars are overtaxed and over-regulated, too hilly, too dusty, ,........., just all sorts of things ~ and, NO HURRICANES, although I saw three (Count'em, 1, 2, 3) tornadoes from a hilltop in Vista overlooking Oceanside ~ which means there can be hope for the climate ~ maybe!

Ahem. I was born in California when the population was below 10 million. After WWII, most that settled here did so because they came through during the Pacific War, including many Southern blacks brought to work in the shipyards. Subsequent to that group, was the big influx of Northeasterners in the 60s and 70s. It was those people who converted this State into a host for Marxist parasites.
The Asians & Hispanics came later and for separate reasons. It was only the latter who came interested in entitlements. The culture had changed long before.

I have seen 4' of snow in Riverside back in the late 40's if memory serves me. We left southern CA about 15 years ago for beautiful SC. Haven't looked back.
