While I agree with you, buffaloguy, I also disagree.
I agree that the Obamaloss will be met with (with a few minor exceptions) near silence.
But TM is talking about the collapse of the government-placation system. That WOULD result in near-universal rioting.
Do you know how the Soviet Union collapsed? It wasn't Yeltsin standing on the top of a tank after the tank shot at a building. It wasn't Lech Walesa, though I salute the man.
It was when the Soviet Union could no longer afford to pay its' people.
All the government workers just walked off the job. Police no longer policed. The military stopped moving. Not one government office was open.
THAT is how a system collapses.
Governments would be formed at the street level.
First the block.
Second the subdivision or group of common streets.
Then the municipality which might not be at all like the old municipality.
Americans place high trust in others and it will play out to our benefit in times of stress.
I have been in two disasters and everyone cooperated with each other. Others came in from long distances to help. This is how it will happen, as it has happened before because that is part of our self definition of the nature of being “American”.
The new governments would be formed within 30 minutes of understanding the real situation. “Charlie, we need this can you do it?”.”Sure, let me get Tom to give me a hand”.
That is a government.
