A majority of voters believe the country is worse off today than it was four years ago and that President Obama does not deserve reelection, according to a new poll for The Hill.
Fifty-two percent of likely voters say the nation is in worse condition now than in September 2008, while 54 percent say Obama does not deserve reelection based solely on his job performance.
Only 31 percent of voters believe the nation is in better condition, while 15 percent say it is about the same, the poll found. Just 40 percent of voters said Obama deserves reelection.
The results highlight the depth of voter dissatisfaction confronting Obama as he makes his case for a second term at this weeks Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C.

The “Hill”, an Obama mouthpiece and spinner now tells it as it really is. Pretty darn close to my final election outcome numbers on November 6, 2012. Romney/Ryan, 57%, Obama/Biden, 40%, others, 3%.
Racial Maddow ain’a gonna like dis.
Can you imagine the crying and fit throwing on msnbc.....?
I’m sorry, but 40% saying Obama deserves re-election is alarming.
The Hill went conservative.
Racial Maddow aina gonna like dis.
I think she would love to get a Republican in the White House. It would allow her to complain and watch the ratings go up. She already has seen her ratings go up for some reason but if she could have a constant bash Republican President show, it would be a plus for her show. Just like Rush is better with a Democrat in office.
54-40... Once folks get in that voting booth with no echo of MSNBC and the the rest of the MSM race hustlers, Obozo is going to lose in a landslide.
No problem.
They just won't mention the poll. Therefore it never happened.
Piece of cake.
“Eighty percent of Republicans believe Obama doesnt deserve reelection, and only 11 percent think he does.”
Who are these 11% and what have they been drinking? Perhaps the same 11% that thought Jimmuh Carter deserved reelection.
Democrats who lied to the pollster.
Undeserved is not the word for it.
Obama worked hard for his peeps the 31% who are bone idle... and he worked hard for nobody else|
I've been posting at thehill.com for years, back in 2008 I often felt like the lone voice in the wind, I would post something positive about George W. Bush or negative about Obama and get pages of scathing replies. If I would have to guess I would say liberals outnumbered conservatives by at least a 3/1 margin. However, something has happened in the last couple years, those numbers seem to have flipped and now conservative posters outnumber liberals and conservative comments tend to get far more "likes", which is odd because thehill.com does tend to lean left (it's owned by Diane Feinstein's husband).
Ever been polled and were about to give very conservative answers, and the pollster asked your party, and maybe for just a second you were tempted to say "Democrat"?
These are the liberals who failed to resist that temptation.
That should be about 40%, don't be al-armed, BE ARMED and vote Ryan/Romney or romney/RYAN or Paul and pal or Ryan with mittens or even Romney/Ryan, but VOTE.
DON'T SIT THIS ELECTION OUT AND DON'T VOTE THIRD PARTY.
The Hill’s readership has nothing to do with the independent polling results. They poll registered voters not TheHill readers.
This is the FIRST poll I have ever seen where those polled think Romney will win, not Obama.
The poll found 46 percent of voters believe Romney will win the Nov. 6 election, compared to 43 percent who said they expect Obama to win.
This is the most important finding in the article. People are talking to their friends and realizing that lots of people oppose Obama.
The GOP was brought kicking and screaming in nominating Romney but it seems to be paying off. And I was doubtful, but his judgement in picking Paul Ryan was a master stroke.
Listen, friend, I’m with you!!! I think and beiieve any American that votes for America hater, Obama is not an American!!! End of story!!!
