Romney Didn’t Make the Sale
Newsmax ^ | Larry Kudlow

Posted on 09/02/2012 9:32:27 PM PDT by deek69

Did Mitt Romney make the economic sale at the Republican National Convention? Did he convince people who are living at the margin or unemployed and discouraged that he has the answers to the economy? Frankly, I don’t think so.

It helps simply if a Mitt administration will stop doing some of the more idiotic things that the Barack administration has been up to. Anything else is gravy.

I do believe that Obama has managed to make it obvious to more Americans that he is the (pseudo?) President than any other American president of recent history. Got to hand that to Barack.

Romney chose another purpose with his speech. Romney wanted to tell America that he was a human being with concern about his country. Kudlow may have issues relating to other human beings. The fact that Kudlow has been married three times and was addicted to cocaine and alcohol tells me something.

I agree. We need to be on the lookout for the areas that Romney tamps down Ryan’s conservative message. If Ryan starts sounding like Leiberman and dumping his core values, we might still have problems (Leiberman was a moderate and went hard left for Gore).

So far so good though.

If nothing else, Romney made Americans feel good again about the future. Gave them some hope, to coin a phrase. Plus I found it refreshing, and exhilarating, to listen to someone who so obviously loves this country. Obama has never had much good to say about America. The differences between the two men has been clearly defined, as far as I’m concerned. Don’t look for Obama to lean right-—he’ll double down on the leftist junk.

Romney doesn’t have to make a sale, this election is all about Obama’s failures.

Obama is the out of control rapids, Romney is the rock in the middle, that if you reach it, at least gives you a fighting chance to survive.

Romney’s job at this convention was to look Presidential, not to run spread sheets. Romney had to make a credible case that it was OK to vote for him instead of Obama. Romney made that case with flying colors.

Exactly! Well said!!!!

Kudlow should have been smart enough to know this.

“If nothing else Romney made Americans feel good...”

I didn’t watch the whole convention, but the speeches I watched were very uplifting. (Ryan, Rubio, Martinez..and yes Eastwood).

I will watch selected portions of the Dem convention. I will be surprised if that will be the case. I expect a lot of doom and gloom...and bohonkus.

Romney and Ryan hit Obama on jobs, promise tax cuts

http://www.latimes.com/news/politics/la-pn-romney-and-ryan-hit-obama-on-jobs-20120901,0,4332176.story

Romney promised that under his administration, Americans would have more take-home pay as a result of his tax cuts. “You’re going to see more jobs and more take-home pay, not just because you want it, but because you deserve it,” he said.

I agree.

BTW, did he even mention our violent lawless borders and this epic, endless uncontrolled country killing immigration from every direction?

Yep, in the time I have been watching conventions...they really don’t spell out specifics.

Now, that being said...I’m sure Barry will./s

“Whatever. I thought so. To be honest is was comforting not to listen to the race baiting, lying and “I’s” that constantly come out of EC’s mouth. (EC=Empty Chair)”

EC...I like it.

“Chair” - yet another race baiting code word.
