Romney Didn’t Make the Sale
Newsmax ^ | Larry Kudlow

Posted on 09/02/2012 9:32:27 PM PDT by deek69

Did Mitt Romney make the economic sale at the Republican National Convention? Did he convince people who are living at the margin or unemployed and discouraged that he has the answers to the economy? Frankly, I don’t think so.

“OK if Romney is not the guy then what is our other choice?”

Those choices were thrown aside (by the GOP) early on....
I have been a REP for as long as I can remember (I’m almost 75) and I can tell you, the Repub’s have thrown many good and highly capable candidates aside in the past and picked some not so worthy candidates for our choices. None the less, right now Romney is the ONLY one we have to elect. He MUST DEFEAT OBUMMER! Support and get behind him NOW and in November.

Our so called conservative pundits are full of $hit. Do they really expect Romney to come out with a detailed plan and have it torn apart just a few days later?

I think obama and his campaign would steal Romney's plan and run on it.

Pundits like Kudlow always gripe because their pet issue wasn’t the single focus of a convention speech. Did anyone really expect Romney to spend 45 minutes going over a Powerpoint presentation on he and Ryan’s plan?

I think the Romney campaign strategy is brilliant and well thought out.

The key is this. Obama has nothing to run on, economically.

So, the loony Left will not be able to restrain themselves in attacking, name calling, insulting and demeaning Romney and Ryan at the Dem Convention.

This is why the GOP Convention was mostly subtle velvet glove mocking of Obama.

As Rush Limbaugh once said...let the Loony Left speak. They will show everybody their radical looniness.

Kudlow is right on substance but wrong in general because Romney’s cheif task at the convnetion was not to be a wonk but to come across as someone people could trust and like. He succeeded wildly. There’s still time to devote time to tax cuts and economic growth. Kudlow just wants to keep the heat on Romeny and Ryan to make sure they toe the line on lower tax rates and policies that promote growth — which is a good thing.

Romney didn’t make the sale as a salesman or in this pic as a used car salesman. I consider the used cars as symbolic of the Progressive agenda that he and Obama represent and the previous POTUSes that have come and gone.

I watched his speech and wasn’t sold on it either.

Even if Romney gets elected will things change for the better? In some ways, yes, but the net effect will be negative because he will further push the Progressive agenda on America.

After four years let us FReepers get together and ask if he measured up to conservative expectations.

I hate to disagree, but I think I can find $3 between the cushions of my empty bark a lounger to send to Mr. Romney.

I was just saying, it would be a big mistake for Romney to depend on winning by default. He needs to make the affirmative conservative case. That’s why it was so encouraging when he picked Ryan as his VP. Ryan holds and can articulate the conservative vision. The campaign needs to explain to the sheeple why Romney is the guy for the job, as well as why Obama is not.

I love Kudlow, but he’s not famous for being a “stellar” predictor of things to come. ;o)

“Is Kudlow trying to go George Will? He sounds more like he’s trying to boost his relevance than offering a considered evaluation.”

Good point!

I think the inside the beltway stuff is lethal to objectivity.

I agree with ALL of your post and, especially, this. It is what it is.

Thank you for your service to our country. ;o)
