“I will add one more positive for the Church of LDS today. I’ve been trying (with some degree of failure) to research my Dad’s side of the family. Virtually all of the genealogy sites charge or at least require registration. The Mormons’ site is absolutely free. Sometimes, all you need is a name & thanks to them, I found that name which took me all the way back to Ireland. They’re not money-grubbers, for sure.”
The Mormons use the system so they can baptize your dead parents into the Mormon religion. They market themselves well so they can get you to join, be baptized, and then pay 10 percent of your gross income, not to mention you have to volunteer to work in Mormon business ventures when “called,” literally, by the LDS. At least, you do that if you want to get the Temple recommend and access to the Celestial Heaven.
I know why (as of this year) why they keep their databases & the basic nature of their faith. Do you think that this changes any non Mormon’s personal relationship with God in any way or their own accountability/ salvation? I’m just sayin’ because I don’t.
I was raised in the Church of Christ & my grandmother fervently believed that all Catholics were going straight to you-know where. My husband of nearly 26 years is Catholic. I have gone to mass- frequently, with him, but have never entertained conversion. Nor have I ever encouraged him to change his faith, either. I don’t hold the same view, though because some of the “best” (literally. Better people than me!) Christians I have known are Catholic.
Spirituality is the most personal aspect of who we are, imho. God Works miracles Every. Day. The best thing we can “do about” Mormons is pray that He Will Open their eyes. I guess I just don’t feel threatened by them. I am a *lot* more concerned about anything-goes liberalism that is destroying our society & literally cutting God out of our children’s’ lives away from home.
