That is so...North Korea.
Why don’t people just pee on it?
Note the rim “OZYMANDIAS”... that text is from the poem. Read the entire poem, very fitting to the presidency and the sand-sculpture :)
I think you have just given the Tyranny Reponse Team an excellent idea. All under the cover of darkness of course, and after plenty of Pabst Blue Ribbon.
How come they ain got no boolack folks woikin on that there stature? Juss them wyatt boys. Raysis.
That is Obama a new God that all of his followers can bow down to and pray to. Allah might not like the competition.
The graphic is great! The echo of Ozymandias occurred to me, when I first saw a picture of the sculpture. I thought I might be the only one, as that poem had enough of an impact on me that I still remember it from high-school, lo these many decades ago.
The fact that it’s a sand sculpture is fitting for this sped-up age — even the decline into ruin and decay is faster.
The arrogant Obama sculpture looked more like Ozymandias to me.
“Why don’t people just pee on it?”
That’s part of the construction, isn’t it?
It is a sculpture of the president in a sitting position. Too bad it didn’t rain enough to just leave an empty chair
There wasn’t enough sand
:O) thats for sure..
Someone should reroute a rain gutter downspout onto the statue, and watch the fun begin when the rain falls this week.
This sculpture is just another metaphor of those who build their houses on sand - as taught by Jesus in the Bible.
I have to be honest - that is one bizarre-looking sculpture anyway. Not sure he’d look any better if half of it hadn’t washed away...
7 Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened . 24 Everyone then who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. 25 The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not act on them will be like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell and great was its fall! 28 Now when Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were astounded at his teaching, 29 for he taught them as one having authority, and not as their scribes.
