"Obama is toast. "

I had lunch with a married couple that I've been friends with for 32 years. I worked with the wife. I'm a female, and we are all retired, and in our 60's. Of course our conversation reverted to politics, and I brought up Clint Eastwood's presentation at the RNC. I told them I wasn't crazy about Romney, but the thought of another 4 years of Obama had caused me to believe that I had to vote for the Romney/Paul ticket. From some of their comments, I said: "Please don't tell me you're going to vote for Obama," and they said "yes", that they were leaning toward voting for him. I almost fell off my chair.

I asked them what he had done these past four years that would actually cause them to vote for him, and they couldn't name one thing. I gave them plenty of reasons for not voting for Obama, but they looked at me like I was making it all up. It was obvious to me that they enjoyed being spoon-fed the lies of the main stream media.

There was another older couple sitting at the table next to us. The husband had gotten up from the table, and I said to the lady: "We're talking politics, something they tell you never to do." She replied: "That's okay, I agree with everything you said." It was so funny.

It's a shame that my friends feel the way they do. The wife and I were among a handful of female correction officers who went to work in an all-male maximum security prison in 1980. Her husband is a Navy veteran from the Vietnam era. You'd think they'd have more sense than take the media seriously. They're nice people, but dumber than a box of rocks when it comes to politics. I am praying they see the light before election day.

They may be people who are going to vote for Obuma no matter what because he’s black.

I’ve met a few older people who feel that way. In some cases (I’m sure not all) it’s because they were somewhat racist in their views forty or fifty years ago. They feel that by voting for Obuma they can “get right.” Expiate guilty feelings they harbor from long ago.

I believe at least one member of my own family is in this catagory.

You will find out that people will not admit a mistake when it finds their belief in something is totally out of whack. They consider themselves as smart yet cannot explain the utter stupidity of supporting Obama. A deer in the headlights has a greater chance of losing its pride and saving its life.
