CarMax co-founder and former CEO Austin Ligon, who will be a featured speaker at the Democratic National Convention, says he and his company's 17,000 employees aren't responsible for his billion dollar company, the government is:
As President Obama has said, I didn't do it alone. I succeeded because we had a committed team of CarMax associates working round the clock to build our business. We found ready capital from healthy and flexible capital markets that allowed us to grow. We benefited from an effective national transportation infrastructure that let us move products from one market to another, and we had cooperation and assistance from federal, state, and local governments in providing clear rules of the road that let us plan and grow our business.

Even taking that into account, CarMax was still overpriced, IMHO.
One thing I have been wondering. If the goobermint is responsible for all the business successes, doesn’t that also mean that every failed business is the goobermint’s fault? That steel company they keep trying to hook to Mitt, wouldn’t that be their fault?
Hahahahah. This CarMax former CEO has lost it.
Does this mean he’s volunteering to pay the 75% personal income tax on the wealthy?
Not having your tax returns questioned?
The reason he gives you a discount if you pay cashbis because he doesn’t report it and pay taxes for it. No surprise he’s voting for Obama. He doesn’t fall in the high tax brackets because he cheats the system. Just like an Obama supporter. The erest of us that are honest get slammed by the federal IRS Mafia
Since he's only a co-founder, wonder what the other co-founder(s) think of him weighing in on what may well be the losing incumbent president's side.
I've considered using CarMax in the future, maybe not so much now.
I wish business would stay politically agnostic.
I won't touch a product that donates to "breast cancer research' because I don't know if it's Planned Parenthood's ally Komen in disguise.
Sort of a nice slogan for a reseller.
What next for self-flatuating liberals and prostituting business leaders?
self-flatuating = self-flagellating
Damn, and I was going to look at CarMax for my next vehicle.
Oh well. Plenty of other places to buy cars....
Screw you CarMax, you’ll not get my business again. (Two cars ago I bought a Toyota from them...)
“[Romney] has said nothing that gives a businessman like me confidence that he knows how to move the economy forward.”
LOL! This guy is FOS (and probably knows it!). Whatever weaknesses Romney has as a candidate, his ability of running a successful business is undeniable. Yep, Mr. Ligon has definitely lost it.
Just tweeted CarMax that I will not be buying a car from them..
For over 40 years, most of the cars we’ve owned were used, purchased from private citizens.
Whatever the reason, those cars turned out to be very good purchases for us, and lasted for years.
did he get his obamaocare waiver yet?
aaahhhaaaa
Idiots-R-Us .... I always wonder why a voice in the back of my head made me stay away from buying any vehicle from CarMax... =.=
This is REALLY going to help CArMAx!! What the HELL IS Car/Max? :)
