A transgendered woman?
You mean a man. A man who pretends he is a woman.
Stop saying ‘she.” That’s insulting to people’s intelligence.
Every time I hear a newsreporter say “a transgendered woman” I think to myself “IT”S NOT A WOMAN! Stop saying that.”

I know. For the longest time I was confused and thought that a “transgender woman” was a woman receiving testosterone to look like a man. They should call the male to female transgenders “transgender men” and the female to male “transgender women”. It is a deliberate sleight of hand, methinks.

Every time I hear a newsreporter say a transgendered woman I think to myself ITS NOT A WOMAN! Stop saying that. That annoys me, too, and I always make the mental correction. That phrase is only accurate if they are, in fact, discussing a woman trying to distance herself from her gender. For instance, Chastity Bono.

Alas, I can't find a dictionary definition for "woman" that matches the way they use it here. Should we look forward to referenda on the definition of "woman" and "man"? wom·an [woom-uhn] noun, plural wom·en [wim-in] noun 1. the female human being ( distinguished from man). 2. an adult female person. 3. a female attendant to a lady of rank. 4. a wife. 5. the nature, characteristics, or feelings often attributed to women; womanliness. fe·male [fee-meyl] noun 1. a person bearing two X chromosomes in the cell nuclei and normally having a vagina, a uterus and ovaries, and developing at puberty a relatively rounded body and enlarged breasts, and retaining a beardless face; a girl or woman. 2. an organism of the sex or sexual phase that normally produces egg cells. 3. Botany . a pistillate plant.
