agreed. I don’t know if he’d get a national gig or not; talk radio in general appeals to an aging demo, but then again the likes of Rush can earn big bucks. Maybe Howie can get some fill in gigs for some shows (in the past he’s gone on KFI in LA via ISDN). Suppose for example he signs with WTKK in 2 yrs; they could have him do 2 hours of national and 2 of local. Who knows.
I know this goes back over 20 years but I remember listening to Jerry Williams and it would delight me when I’d hear him fill in: “Good afternoon New England, this is Howie Carr of the Herald and I’m filling in for the Dean today.” Jerry was a legend but I preferred Howie—Jerry was good, Howie even better.
