This was a reckless boast on Ryans part. Politicians, of course, routinely do this kind of thing and must be called on it when nailed. However, if the rats want to make a big deal out of it then lets revisit, ad infinitum, their own stolen valor scumbags, Senators Richard Blumenthal and Tom Harkin, who both lied about being Vietnam veterans.
There is a big difference between recklessly, even if innocently, exaggerating an old marathon time with claiming to be a war veteran. Ryan should get a smack on the back of the head from Romney; Blumenthal and Harkin should be in jail.
A Reckless boast saying you ran a marathon in 1990 in 2 hours 50 something and it was actually 4 hours surely you jest. Did the Times happen to mention if Ryan said he was dodging sniper fire at the same time like our current Secretary of State did who if I am not mistaken ran for President and might again. I find the marathon scandal a joke.
Let’s not forget John Kerry’s Boston Marathon experience.
He served in Viet Nam, ya know.

Pray tell, how do you do that?
A lie is a lie, not an "exaggeration."
