Yep, if we have to punish a guy for misspeaking, why should the guy throwing the rocks be held to a different standard?

Nothing new here. Rove has trash talked every conservative that has passed by.
One more reason to flush the GOP.

If Rove was such an asset how come not one campaign, even for dogcatcher, has sought to retain his services? Could it be the guy is just another dipshit opportunist loudmouth, like most "consultants?"

At the very least Rove should make a public apology. Rove has been calling on Todd Akin ...but the one who should resign because he made an embarrassing, malicious and downright stupid remark is Karl Rove. You have nailed it, ma'am...

Please everyone just leave rep. Akin alone!
Rove and anyone else should ignore rep. Akin. He will soon lose by dozen points to McCaskil and will join the ash heap of forgotten politicians such as Joe Miller, Doug Hoffman, Sharron Angle, Christine O’Donell, Ken Buck, JD Hayworth etc.

The problem is that where is Rove going to go? Does he hold any official position or is he simply another self appointed critic?

Wow. You’ve made more of a profound statement than you may realize.

Rove said that if anything bad were to happen to Akin that he might have done it.
Or to the effect....stating he was so angry at Akin for not resigning that he might kill the guy.
What a dumb thing to say!
This is a guy who publicly mocked Delaware’s Christine O’Donnell, who advised Mike Castle not to endorse her when he won the Delaware primary.
This is a guy who people hire to run their political campaigns, the fellow who advises them....gulp...WHAT TO SAY PUBLICLY AND HOW TO SAY IT!
He’s a smirky know-nothing who badly, badly advised Dubya Bush and with this latest stupid gaffe, at the least let us de-elevate this man from any great status as a political reconteur.

I never trusted Rove, even when everyone here thought he was the greatest strategist ever I couldn't bring myself to believe he was anything other than an opportunist.

Like most FReepers, I'm fed up with Karl Rove and Fox News treating him as if he were Ronald Reagan, reincarnated. He's a classic RINO and has no use for conservatives. The feeling is mutual. The BS that you can make a joke out of saying a politician should be murdered shows that Rove is not only mean-spirited but far from the political genius he probably thinks he is. Unfortunately, I believe that Karl Rove has his tentacles into the RNC on many levels and won't be going anywhere. Still, just getting his smug, pudgy face off of every other Fox News interview and commentary show would be a small relief for most of us.

Rove’s comment is a very toned down glimpse of his vicious cut throat nature. Maybe it is time for the little bug eyed bald ‘architect’ to go back to rap singing.
