For some Texas schools, demographic future is now .

Certain characteristics set the Laredo Independent School District apart from most districts in the state.

Its western boundary aligns directly with the Mexican border. Nearly all its students are poor, and nearly all are Hispanic. Most rely on the school to provide two meals a day. On the first day of school this week, some showed up without shoes or without parents accompanying them.

“It’s hard to work on teaching them about reading and writing and math when they haven’t eaten. It’s hard to really welcome them into their class with their textbooks and their lockers when they don’t have on shoes,” said Marcus Nelson, the Laredo superintendent, who said the district solicited donations of shoes and dress-code appropriate clothes all summer to prepare for the new school year.

some showed up without shoes or without parents accompanying them, you would think child protective services would of been called to investigate child endangerment, child abuse, child neglect. To be PC they do not want those here illegally to answer to why kids are showing up without shoes or without parents accompanying them ??

Because they are walking across the border to the Texas schools from Mexico. Happens every day along the border.

American taxpayers. Doing the jobs the Mexican government doesn’t want to do. Educating their kids.

We are going broke feeding and educating Mexico’s children because the Supreme Court decreed that this is the responsibility of the border states. Talk about a punishment.

One of my friends teaches school in rural Nevada. Free lunch was expanded to free breakfast. This year they are starting free dinner. The school system, with federal grant money, is providing these kids with three hots a day. They might as well build a dormitory and make it a boarding school.

The obvious question is how many are illegal aliens?

I would suspect that it would be easier to count how many have parents that are legal U.S. citizens.

By 2050, the number of Texas public school students is expected to swell to nine million from roughly five million now, and nearly two-thirds will be Hispanic

The overall percentage of white students will drop by half to about 15 percent.

wow...

Sorry, I felt I needed to correct that...

I am shocked Mexico offers free school, free healthcare and the wealth of corrupt, ocialistic, crony capitalism. Why would they come to this awful place.

A child who shows up without shoes or parents should be taken into protective care by social services.

period.

all govt benefits (including tax refunds) to their “parents” should stop or be deposited into an court-mandated escrow account for the child’s needs, until it is determined how the parent is providing for the child.

foster homrs and orphansges are better than the “homes” some of these children endure.

“By 2050, the number of Texas public school students is expected to swell to nine million from roughly five million now, and nearly two-thirds will be Hispanic”

This is happening NOW, across the country, and “2050” is just tossed out there so white people think they have time to “do something about it”. Blacks learned the hard way when Hispanics officially passed them in 2000 (ten years earlier than projected); whites will learn the same lesson (and long before 2050). The unfettered immigration is the only reason Obama has a prayer of winning; there are not enough unassimilated blacks, homosexuals, and public school teachers to garner him 25% of the vote otherwise.

Nothing is more ridiculous than whites complaining about all of the immigrants while refusing to breed themselves; raising “his and hers” puppies ain’t the same.

We have the free breakfast and lunch programs on our welfare reservations here in NJ; someone told me they were federal, not state, programs.

You’re right about making them boarding schools; when you add in before- and after-care programs, these children are little more than monthly paychecks to their “parents”...

“We are going broke feeding and educating Mexico’s children because the Supreme Court decreed that this is the responsibility of the border states.”

Years ago my town paid an investigator to get on buses in the neighboring town and ride them to our high school each day; as the students filed into school he would take any students who had already been on the bus in the neighboring town to the office because they didn’t belong in our schools (we’re very close to Newark NJ, where the schools are a mess). After a few cases where parents were successfully sued for tuition, somebody must have realized there were federal funds involved per student (more lucrative than suing for tuition) and the practice ceased.

Now our public high school looks like one from Newark’s Latin quarter (though to be fair an increasingly large part of my town itself looks like it is in Peru). Taxpayers (individual and businesses) flee, and the municipalities crumble.

Just spent 4 days riding in West Texas and New Mexico. While I loved the scenery and solitude every time I stopped for gas or to eat it was invariably Mexican owned and/or run. Dirty, poor service, broken toilets, no TP, no hand towels, etc, etc..... and since I only speak English I couldn't even complain.

A snapshot of our coming 3rd World America.

I agree. It’s also why I don’t buy some of the analogies about the political climate today to the climate of the nation in 1980. The demographics are against us and if pointing it out makes me a racist, then so be it.

As Pat Buchanan aptly wrote just recently......the days of a 49 state blow out are over.

Oh yeah.......lock & load too.
