One could always count on Frederic Chopin to turn out a set of mazurkas, and 1839 was no exception.

The first of the set alternates between light and dark in a contemplative manner. The second is more extroverted. The third is contemplative, but with a slightly extroverted and beautiful end. The fourth sounds almost like Debussy at the beginning before settling into a more Chopinesque flavor.

Chopin: 4 Mazurkas, Op. 41 (E minor, B, A-flat, C# minor)
