Correspondent Jessica Yellin (CNN) - An hour after Mitt Romney stepped off of his party's convention stage, crowned as the Republican presidential nominee, organizers of the Democratic convention announced several speakers who will appear onstage in Charlotte, North Carolina next week.
The partial lineup released Friday highlights Democratic women, Latinos, African-Americans, and congressional leaders.
The convention speaker list includes Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts; Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley; Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, the former White House Chief of Staff; and former Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine, who is running for a U.S. Senate seat.

Harry Reid on Iraq: “This war is lost and the surge is not accomplishing anything.”
Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz on the newly passed health care law: “We actually have not required in this law that you carry health insurance.”
everyone else vs. white? men
John Kerry on health care: “I’m going to be honest with you — I don’t know a lot about Cuba’s healthcare system. Is it a government-run system?”
Where’s Washermouth-Shultz?
In my crystal ball, for my near future, I see a string of Hallmark movies — and all of the Dirty Harry flicks. Nothing could make me turn on a news channel during the DNC convention.
Doesn’t matter to me. I definitely won’t be watching. It will be like fingernails on a blackboard.
I, for one. will not watch one second of this Communist, Obama, Love Fest!!! Nothing to see, hear or ponder!!!

Los Angeles teeters on the brink of bankruptcy
April 30, 2012
By Brian Calle
Taxpayers in Los Angeles are facing a major crisis if Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and other officials do not begin to address the systemic, structural issues putting the city on the fast track to economic upheaval. The situation is similar to that in other California cities such as Stockton and Vallejo.
Much ado has been made about the citys projected $238 million budget shortfall for fiscal year 2012-2013 and the mayors proposal to cut jobs and tinker around the edges of pension reform. But the picture is much grimmer than a single years budget shortfall

OMalley, Md. lawmakers use debt to lube states path through recession

Stacked into the budget that Marylands House of Delegates will debate Wednesday is a grim look at the states fiscal future:
To cover mounting debt, Maryland will have to raise property taxes after next year or begin eating into operating funds for schools, social services and public safety.
O'Malley wasn't using his Orphan Annie Secret Society Decoder correctly.
The code reads: "Drink More Ovaltine ..."
O'Malley couldn't figure out how to cut the debt in the state budget, so he got the legislature to foist 50% of the state's debt obligation for state retirees off onto the counties' backs.
He thinks this makes him look good - balancing the budget, but the debt STILL has to be paid by us taxpayers [I live in MD]. Only the tax bill is gonna come from the counties - not the state !!!
She’s been drinking too much from her own douche bag.
Tim Kaine, that sickening piece of waste who pretended to be governor of my state. ON THE SLY, when he was getting ready to leave office, he tried to get the Dept. of Justice to transfer a convicted murderer to the murderer’s native country, Germany, where he could be paroled in a couple of years. The killer, Jens Soering, and his former girlfriend Elizabeth Haysom, stabbed Haysom’s parents to death. Soering initially thought his father’s status as a diplomat would give him immunity; it didn’t, but Tim Kaine did his best to help get him off.
I don’t understand how this despicable life form can even show his face to the public after being busted for trying something so heinous. If George Allen has any sense, he’ll make sure this incident isn’t skipped over before the election.
Let the hatefest begin.
And there,in the front row,my mentor and good friend....
I thought of the same thing. I guess John Kerry is the congressional leader, Martin O’Malley will speak in blackface, Rahm Emanuel will show up in drag, and Tim Kaine will appear as his alter ego, Timoteo Caín.
