When the week began, and the Republican National Convention bore the unfortunate burden (again) of coinciding with a hurricane near New Orleans, some thought that it was inevitable that President Barack Obama would upstage challenger Mitt Romney--not by campaigning, but by visiting areas affected by the storm, quietly reminding voters that he is still President, and drawing an implicit comparison with George W. Bush. Yet somehow Obama spent the week campaigning, at rallies and online, while Romney, who only yesterday accepted his partys nomination for the job, has beaten Obama to the scene, and will visit hurricane-ravaged communities in Louisiana today, the Hill reports. Obama had all week to visit affected areas, but did not--and the media let him off the hook. (Apparently hurricanes are only policy failures if Republicans are in power.)

Obama decided to do a Me Too.
Ha, I hope Romney announced this while enroute to Louisiana.
The Won is waiting for the golf courses to reopen.
Yeah, pretty pitiful on Obama’s part.
I think he did, and then Obama announces shortly thereafter, ME TOO! They have cancelled some campaign events and re-arranged his schedule since. Truly pathetic on Obama’s part. Imagine what went on behind the scenes.
Imagine what went on behind the scenes.

“Clean up on aisle PANTS.”
Nice! But the left would say, that’s a double negative meaning Obama DOES care about black people! lol
Or is that a triple meg meaning he does? lol
Has a precedent been set that the Prez has to visit EVERY disaster? Seems to me that is a huge burden, not to mention costly to the taxpayers (us) to fire up AF1.
I believe Romney should cool his jets on this one.
Besides hurricanes, there are hundreds of tornadoes every year, hundreds of forest fires, floods, etc. etc. Thousands of people die by acts of God. The President CANNOT be expected to visit every one.
By all accounts this storm was mild.
There should be an ad regarding this “turn of events”...
we can call it...
FOLLOW THE LEADER
After all, that’s what this campaign is all about - Lack of leadership. Obama’s U-Turn crystallizes the issue.
Months down the road, it will be Romney, and not Obama, who has to deal with Louisiana’s problems. Good thing too! Louisiana will need someone in the federal government who knows how to do something besides waste money.
* He rolls up his sleeves and volunteers for a couple of hrs, ditto his boys if they are with him
* He ask American's to volunteer and or send money.
* Reaches out to unconventional sources other than FEMA, Beck and 9/11, His Church, all Churches, to name a few.
It will show command of issues, resources and the "situation"....
Obama, are you going to follow MITT on his campaign stops?? If you are, you aren’t a leader...(Hell, Jimmy Carter was a better president than you...)
