Palin, Fox at odds in contract negotiations?

One of the most curious developments at the Republican convention took place far away from the delegate floor. Two events appeared for a short time to be part of the same story: the announcement of the mystery speaker, and the sudden cancellation of Sarah Palins interviews on Fox News.
Palin, the Republican Partys previous VP nominee, would have provided some intriguing commentary on the night when her successor spoke, and so some myself included thought Palins spots must have been canceled because she had become a participant in this convention. When it became clear that Clint Eastwood had agreed to speak, it left many of us wondering exactly why Palins Fox appearances had been canceled at the time when she had the most value as a commentator.
New York Magazine reported yesterday that the cancellations were due to a power play in contract negotiations, and that Palin might find herself in search of a new platform:
Essentially, Palin and Fox are in the early stages of an elaborate contract negotiation. Palin earns roughly $1 million per year from Fox, making her the highest paid contributor at the network. Fox executives have been disappointed with her ratings; Palin has been disappointed by Foxs decision to not give her top billing on bookings. According to sources, the relationship at times has gotten so bad that much communication has been conducted via Palins husband Todd.
One thing is clear: Its risky for her to push the envelope too far. Fox has been a central pillar of Palins national reach since quitting the governorship, and without the networks platform, its unclear how she could maintain even her current, much-diminished level of visibility.
Palins Facebook outburst surely didnt endear her to Roger Ailes, who prizes message discipline and loyalty among his troops.

Well, if Palin has shown one thing it is she takes care of herself.

This is the person who can tweet or write a Facebook note and still get covered by every media outlet from Peoria to Pakistan, from Beijing to Bakersfield. She needs Fox News like a fish needs a unicycle. What a laff!! True, Tweeting gives her an audience but Fox gives her a $M payday..................

You are welcome to your opinion as I am. I see her as a successful campaigner for TEA Party candidates and she is wildly popular with most of us. I do comprehend that all of the left hates her and wants her dead and some Conservatives do not care for her. Heck man... some people hated Elvis too.

Governor Sarah Palin still can dominate the news cycle.
And she has almost unlimited options to promote and defend the philosophy of a true Conservative. Now that she has her own money, and access to make more money, and a whole potload of political IOUs that she can call in, she can choose the optimal path for her future, and for a good future for our country, where people have real jobs, own houses, start successful small businesses, pay rational gasoline prices, feel secure and believe in a better future.
She has not made a major misstep yet.
And 17,000.000 more viewers for her Vice Presidential speech than for Mr. Ryans!!!Wow
When the Empire of Mr. Obama strikes back ia a few days, Sarah Palin will continue to be the one to focus on the issues.

Amen!
I’m not a regular viewer of Fox News now anyway.
I watch whenever I know Sarah Palin is scheduled to appear.
Cut her and I’ll cut Fox altogether.
It’s not like I’m dying to know Hume’s opinion, ya know?
I could write that one myself. Droll and over thought.

I have come to despise the Media in general, I can't even watch Sarah's interviews, mostly because I can never shake the feeling that their is a "gotcha" question in there, I see too much Palin hatred in ANYTHING I try to watch and enjoy now-a-days, I can't even sit back and listen to Sarah.
(and no, just because Faux is supposedly "right-wing" doesn't mean them and Sarah is on the same side, I saw too much pimping for Romney during the primary)
Their news coverage also makes me scratch my head sometimes and wonder what the hell happened?

especially attacking Birthers. The record HAS to be corrected on this.
He didn't start that war, the Birthers did, by insisting, online, that he talk about that issue.
This insistence went on for a week or more. Beck, after much patience, finally responded to the blackmailing, and he responded as he should have, with both barrels loaded with exploding ordinance.
The Birthers deserved everything they got, and more.

If Fox News had any smarts, they’d send Sarah Palin to Charlotte to comment on the Damnocrap’s Convention. If she replaced Megyn Kelly for the convention, heads would explode.
To: Lilyjuslan
Great idea!!
Sarah Palin as a commentator/analyst at the Democrat Convention.
Talk about a ratings bonanza!!

I’m pretty sure that one of the most famous and influential women in the world can find another way to bring home a paycheck. Much less well-known people make a handsome living giving speeches, motivational talks, writing columns, sitting on corporate boards, etc.
