I think the Republican party should sever whatever relationship it has with Rove. At least for the duration of this election.
We don’t give to PACs either, we just send to candidates we support. Only trouble with that is they share their mailing lists and you end up getting so many appeals for funds from other conservative candidates. One day we got 9 requests in the mail.
We still get Christmas cards from John Thune from when we supported him to defeat Tom Daschle. Haven’t send him any more money though!
