This is characterized as a joke, and it probably was intended that way, but it is in the context of GETTING RID OF TODD AKIN.
This is far worse than anything Todd Akin said.
Unbelievably Ignorant.
Here are the five polls of record on the matter to date:
http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/pdf/2011/PPP_Release_MO_8201.pdf
http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/pdf/2011/PPP_Release_MO_830925.pdf
and the one statement that all seem to agree upon:
Theres clearly a disconnect on Akins candidacy between GOP leaders in Washington DC and actual GOP voters back in Missouri.
You know I believe this. I do.
Rove is a maniacal sicko and I’m not surprised he’d make a comment such as that.
I disagree with people on their politics all the time, especially people on the left but there is no way at anytime any place I’d ever even think to make a joke about murdering them.
You know normal people aren’t wired that way Karl.
Karl Rove is despicable.
Not funny, Rove. I’m not Akins biggest fan, but... yeesh.
Where are the calls for Rove to resign???
Another ignorant statement that reveals a lot about the mentality of Rove and his cronies:
We dont care who the nominee is, other than get Akin out.
They’d put up a candidate to the left of McCaskill if it meant getting rid of Akin. I wonder why they don’t just come out and endorse McCaskill, after all, that’s effectively what they are doing right now.
What I find remarkable is how so many FReepers can be so vocal in their hatred of the GOP-E in general, and Romney in particular, and yet be fully supportive of the GOP-E and Romney in their quest to force Akin out of the race.
The GOP needs to be purged, starting with Boehner, Rove and McCain. As much as I believe that, I don’t make jokes about them being murdered. Karl Rove is a classless jackass.
One would think Rove could better accentuate a point than referring — even jokingly — to the murder of someone. That sh*t doesn’t fly anymore.
Hey, Missouri...see this?
Wonder if Poppin' Fresh feels the same way about Akin supporters? ...or Christian conservatives in general..?
As much as I detest Akin, that comment was really dumb and not productive for any cause that Rove or others may have. Rove does seem to have a knack for making those types of comments, if you think about it.
"There were talking point memos sent from the National Republican Senatorial Committee suggesting language to urge Akin to drop out. Political consultants were ordered to stay away from Akin or lose future business with GOP committees. Operatives were recruited to set up a network of pastors to call Akin to urge him to get out. Money has changed hands to push him off the plank."
But but but, we were told that Huckabee just made all this stuff up!
Romney's GOP is acting like union thugs and yet people think they're going to be some renaissance of conservative values.
Rove is the GOPe’s saboteur maestro.
He is probably behind the ruin of every
conservative from 2008, if not earlier.
my hatred of Rove is about equal with Pelosi....
Rove's remark was rather tasteless, but his analysis of voter behavior is spot on.
There are reactionary voters on both sides of the aisle, and undecideds are particularly prone to reactionary and capricious decision-making (which is the reason Akin's comments have affected candidates in other races beyond Missouri).
What had emerged from that data is an acute understanding of the nature of those undecided, persuadable voters. If you say hes a socialist, theyll go to defend him. If you call him a far out left-winger, theyll say, no, no, hes not.
And if you say he's a conservative, many conservatives will "go to defend him" (even in the case of someone unelectable, e.g. Virgil Goode).
Akin's political fate rests on mustering enough committed conservative, republican and anti-Claire voters to offset the knee-jerk independent and undecided voters who were alienated by his remarks.
Rove’s statements are beyond the pale. Like comparisons of Carter to Obama, Rove makes Akin look good. He needs to make a public apology immediately. What a sick pompous a**.
We should sink Todd Akin. If hes found mysteriously murdered, dont look for my whereabouts!

It’s against federal law to threaten a sitting Congressman. He should be picked up an questioned about this threat.
rove would have his ass whipped where I come from
“Unbelievably Ignorant.”
Not from the Architect, surely you jest. I wonder if Hannity realizes how this makes him look as he fawns over Rove.
