I should have caught on when they were talking about Obama fighting off the Talibunnies (I am assuming that) in A-stan. But no, I was too slow on the up take. : )
Thank you for your service (it is pretty tough being a parent of a Soldier) and thank your son for his service. Is he theater?
As for my son, he just recently returned from Afghaniland, safe and sound. Yes, it was tougher then I imagined, but not as tough as what those front line troops go through. My heart really breaks for those parents who get a visit from the Army telling them that their son or daughter was injured or killed in this prolonged, political quagmire.
While the troops shouldn't hang their head for doing the best they can while having their hands tied, I can't imagine how a parent of a dead or wounded soldier deals with the fact that our political leaders have wasted the lives of this generations bravest. Afghaniland, according to my son who, as an infantryman, saw first hand, is full of corruption, laziness, and stupidity. And this is coming from someone who looks for the glass to be half full.
Are you also a parent of a soldier? If so, thank you for raising a warrior.
