I shook hands with Eruzione in 1980 in Winthrop, MA when his motorcade came through. I was only 17 years old. He gave up a pro hockey career because he knew that he could never top the gold medal. Then I saw him again almost exactly 30 years later to the day at a Scott Brown rally in Worcester, MA and got to shake hands with him again at age 47. Really weird.
