The womens antiwar group CodePink was behind the disruption of Representative Paul D. Ryans speech on Wednesday night, but it was in part a product of the Romney campaigns continuing dispute with Ron Paul supporters.
An angry Ron Paul person was like, here, take my pass, said Laura Mills, the 21-year-old CodePink intern who was escorted out of the Tampa Bay Times Forum after interrupting Mr. Pauls speech.
Ms. Mills and a more seasoned activist, Ann Wright, were just waiting for Mr. Ryan to say something about health care. When he did, they yelled, Health care, not warfare and My body, my choice. Ms. Mills unfurled a banner that read, Vagina: Cant Say It? Dont Legislate It, a reference to an abortion debate in Michigan when a female lawmaker was barred from speaking after referring to womens genitals.

I don’t think that the peanut thing even happened.
What I saw last night was a whole lot of people milling around on the floor during speeches and others sitting there with their arms crosse and a feigned bored expression. It looked to me as though Ron Paulers had stationed themselves at the ends of aisles and other places that would make them more visible. I saw one young woman who was trying very hard not to smile while looking bored and a couple of young men, who looked very gay and very bored.
The GOP should make people sit in their seats during the speeches, or leave the floor.
You forgot, Make sure to refer to your group as a “grass roots effort”.
True Paulers hate social conservatives as much as they hate the inside the Beltway GOP. Their goal is take over the GOP by 2016, by marginalizing both sides of the party. They figure if they destroy both sides and get them fighting with each other, the take over will be complete.
They make it sound like it’s a courageous protest, but acutally all leftist protesters have just one thing in mind: stop other people from speaking with a viewpoint that differs from theirs. Anyone remember the last time conservatives disrupted a Democratic convention? Neither can I. Because it never happens.
Not what I see in the headline.
Here’s the reality of the situation. If Ron Paul had run on a third Party ticket, or if Mitt somehow ticks the RP’s off, there is a good chance he could kiss 5-10% of his vote and election goodbye.
I wouldn’t be too harsh and critical of the Ron Paulers, unless you want Obama back for another 4 years. Contrary to the wishes of the GOP Party elite, many conservatives have differing views on many things including why we are spending trillions defending other countries all on the USA tax payer dole.
Every country that we defend should be subsidizing our military.
Code Pink interrupted John McCain’s 2008 acceptance speech as well.
Too many fifth columnists inside “the big tent” who absolutely have no place in the Republican Party. They align with Code Pink and other anti-American, anti-semite, pro-terrorist, pro-communist forces.
Thankfully Crazy Uncle L Ron has run his last campaign. Something to cheer.
Crazy Uncle L Ron. A boil on the butt of the GOP for over 4 decades. Finally lanced!
Ron Paul is pro-life is he not?
Well trot out your proof as we all know that Paulbots NEVER lie.
LOL. Well you trot out your proof that Ron Paul, and not some “Paulbot” as you call them, had anything to do with it.
Nope.
The onus is on you.
There is absolutely no proof that Ron Paul had anything to do with this. It was an angry Ron Paul backer who gave the pass to the Code Pink disruptor, not Ron Paul. You have no proof that Ron Paul had anything to do with it.
In the USA, the onus is on the one making the accusation. At least that's how it's supposed to be and always used to be.
LOL!
I didn’t say it was Ron Paul but since a Paulbot did it means it certainly did have to do with Ron Paul. Even a Paulbot should be smart enough to understand that but as I mentioned Paulbots NEVER lie.
Further this is not a court of law and I can post whatever I want without explaining a damn thing to you.
I’ve made my point that there is no evidence whatsoever that Ron Paul himself had anything to do with this Code Pink weirdo. It was an angry Paul backer. I don’t hold people responsible for the actions of others without proof.
Go ahead and post anything you want. I’m not going to go tit for tat with someone like you.
Can you read?
It is clear a Paulbot did it so is has to do with Ron Paul as it was a political act. No different than a Paulbot removing a Romney yard sign which also would have something to do with Ron Paul. He didn’t give the Code Pinko fool the pass because he was hungry or had a flat tire. He did it because he IS a Paulbot.
You are certainly the boob in tit for tat.
I believe Ron Paul is a good man. He is very libertarian in his views and stands for limited Constitutional government. I agree with him on some things, but not all things. I agree with his staunch defense of the first and second amendments, his opposition to deficit spending, bloated government and excessive government regulations. I also like the fact that he is pro-life.
Because of some of his views like legalizing drugs and gay marriage and his opposition to foreign military intervention, he tends to attract a segment of supporters who are on the liberal fringe for whom these are their central issues. I don’t have much in common with these types and it was most likely one of these that gave the pass to the Code Pink fool.
I just don’t hold a candidate responsible for the antics of his more kooky supporters, unless there is evidence that the candidate himself encouraged the behavior. My original post of “Ron Paul had nothing to do with this” was in response to those blaming Ron Paul for the incident.
I think I’ve made my position clear and I’m not going to respond to the personal insults.
You started it with the insults but I would expect nothing less from a Paul supporter.
I just dont hold a candidate responsible for the antics of his more kooky supporters, unless there is evidence that the candidate himself encouraged the behavior
I do as kooks attract kooks. I certainly never saw Reagan's supporters pulling the kind of crap that Paul's or Obama's pull. If there is a disruption at a conservative event it is either liberals or Paulbots.
If you associate with drug addicts you will appear to be a drug addict whether you use drugs or not. Paulbots do stupid crap on behalf of Ron Paul so it does have something to do with him. Get used to it.
