I suspect it's deeper than that...Less politically-driven, more personal.

The homos, of course, seek acceptance and approval from women, since they know they'll never be accepted among men. I just can't figure out what the women get out of the bargain. (It must be quite a prize, though, if it's worth all the selling-out.)
