Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan, Mitt Romneys running mate, was treated as a rock star tonight at the Republican National Convention and for good reason.
His soft-spoken manner played intimately, even in an arena of 22,000. When protesters began chanting against Ryan, the crowd drowned them out with thunderous applause. Ryan brought fire to a campaign lacking in it and he also brought credibility on serious issues.
Democrats will have a significant problem painting Ryan as unsympathetic or insincere. Tonight showed why.

RYAN ‘12
Borrowed, Spent, Wasted.
Ryan gave a sincere, inspirational and powerful speech, clearly defining the central planners vs personal responsibility and freedom.
My favorite quote as well, good times ahead.
Ryan speech made the crew at the MSNBC desk anxious and angry. In a post Ryan speech interview, Scott Walker kept his cool and reminded Sgt. Schultz that Obama was the one who promised to keep the Janesville Wisconsin GM plant open. Scott Walker is cool as a cucumber while under fire from the odd folks at the MSNBC desk! Outstanding!
Paul aryan hit a home run! Amazing speech and the left will hate him because he is honest and real!
Ryan must be into hard rock—he said that his play list ranges “from ACDC to Zeppelin.”
I missed it, who in the hell was protesting Ryan?
There were so many great lines, and so perfectly delivered...Mr Ryan goes to Washington. I’m in LOVE!
“Borrowed, Spent & Wasted”
No, it’s really the largest theft in history and it was done in plain view. The upper tier (The elite) of executives at the banks and companies that got the stimulus money pocketed huge amounts of it. As long as they kickback to ‘the’ parties campaigns the Dept. of Justice will look the other way.
I’m totally in on the Zeppelin...gotta vote for that!
zero must be into the gangsta garbage.
“I missed it, who in the hell was protesting Ryan?”
I saw the Maryland flag...
THAT is a first class zinger. Ryan has learned to put a lot of emotion into his speeches without a loss of precision. Love the way he was talking over the applause and keeping it going that way. You know, tonight as he stood there he reminded me of Jack Kennedy at the 1956 Democratic convention. That was when Kennedy was as think as Ryan if not as fit. I even heard some of the same cadences. That was when the Harvard accent dropped away and I heard the Irish come out.
A code pinko got in somehow and got escorted out.
Ryan knocked it out of the park. Everyone in here should be happy about his pick.
Code Pink idiots were protesting.
Lots of Talent coming out of Wisconsin these days. Walker is a very different sort. No great shakes as an orator, but as you say, unflapple.
He not only did a homerun, he hit Obama HARD.
Ryan passed the test with flying colors. He gave a well-paced, articulate speech. It touched all the right chords and was delivered like a pro. He is a man to be taken seriously.
