Situation is I really wanted to go to California and was hitch hiking. It's a dark night; and a crazed looking person pulls up in a car brandishing a knife and I am am unarmed.
Right then some dorky looking safe appearing person comes up who is heading to Texas.
I decide, yes; I could live with going to Texas on this trip and go to California next time.
