Rush Limbaugh: I'm 'literally going insane' By: Kevin Robillard August 29, 2012 03:52 PM EDT
Rush Limbaugh slammed Karl Rove on Wednesday and said he was literally going insane over GOP strategists advice that the party not attack President Barack Obama during their convention.
Do you want to talk about the overall tone of the convention? Limbaugh facetiously asked his radio show audience. Do you want me to say, My gosh, what a bunch of wimps. Dont even have the guts to mention Obamas name. Christie didnt have the guts to mention his name? Do you want me to tell you how this bunch seems to be afraid to be critical of a party thats destroying the country? Or do you agree with the party, No, we dont need to mention that because everybody already knows it and were trying to attract swing voters, and they dont want to hear that stuff?
The conservative talker signaled out Karl Rove, the Bush administration political guru who leads several outside spending groups, and Ed Rollins, who managed Rep. Michele Bachmanns failed GOP primary bid this year, for criticism.
Rollins said on Fox News that ignoring Obamas record was the perfect way to go since most voters are already familiar with it. Rove agreed with Democratic strategist Joe Trippi when he made a similar statement.
Where was the beef? Limbaugh implored. Where was the red meat? There wasnt any. Everybody doesnt know about Obamas terrible record! Im gonna tell you something. Mr. Rollins, if everybody knew Obamas record, hed be down 20 points.

Who, after all these years, would put Ed Rollins in charge of the men’s room shoeshine concession in Tampa, much less anything concerning the campaign?
One advantage to the speeches is that both laid out broad themes that appeal to all people who hope for better things for their children. Not many “hate” handles for the DEMS to grab onto.
Note the theme focus...hope for their children.
Now think of the many phalanx in The Democratic Party where these hopes don’t exist.
They’ll stay Democrat, but the in-betweeners can be persuaded to cross over.

Karl Rove is a colossal loser who doesn’t know jack crap except how to attack conservatives. GWB BARELY won in 2000 and 2004 and then 06 was a blood bath and, try as he might, he couldn’t influence the conservative wave in 2010.
He sucks.
Bush ran against a VP from a hugely (economically) successful Administration and a president who left office with an approval rating in the 65% range. Beating the candidate from that Administration is just about a political miracle and Rove deserves credit.
Gore is a doofus, it’s an insult that he even came close in 2000.
...”it is patently ridiculous to claim an election was lost because a speaker wasnt being nasty enough to the opposition.”
If the truth be nasty then it be nasty...Hot-n-Nasty, yo!

Plus the DUI October surprise probably cost Bush the popular vote in 2000.
Try this. While your wife is getting all over you for one thing or another, stare intently at her as if you are absorbing every word. When she finally runs out of steam, wait about 2-3 seconds and say, "I'm sorry, what was that again"?
Drives 'em up the freakin wall.
Romney lost his Massachusetts Senate race. He won the governor’s race but that was barely an accomplishment because there had been three republican governors immediately before him.
Due to Romney’s amazing ability to decimate republicans (not democrats) and their party, there will probably not be another republican governor in Massachusetts for a very long time.
Sorry, it makes no sense. It’s all amatter of perception. The Campaign wants to set the tone as bringing America back. This is not accomplished by telling your own followers what they already know and further aggravating any undecideds with a rant leading them to believe we will have another four years of the same hate and rancor.
There is ample time for the red meat you seem to need. Romney has a pile of money and it will be spent at least partly as you suggest it should, on attacking Obama’s record.
My belief is us partisans aside the greater majority in America want the economy fixed so we can see more jobs and not a sh*t throwing contest.
**I usually agree with Rush...but one thing about Karl Rove, he knows how to win elections.**
Really? The people out there already know Obama’s record? Really? Where do they see it? On ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, in Hollywood, on late night tv?
The Republican National Convention was the one place where you have the networks covering what they say. The one time they cover what they say. You don’t say it, who the hell is going to know it?
IF this were a Republican administration that lost two wars and the entire ME to the Muslim Brotherhood, and set us up to be enhialated by Russia and China, it would be on the news every single night. The cost of gas would be on the news every single night. The TRUE unemployment rate would be on the news every single night. The double digit inflation would be on the news every single night. The high crimes and misdemeanors by those in the Whitehouse and in the DOJ and in the State Department would be in the news every single night.
IT’s not. And once again, another opportunity to put it on tv on every channel is lost.
Rove a genius? He’s a FKING idiot.
“Rove a genius? Hes a FKING idiot.”
No he is a genius. But for another reason entirely. He got conservatives on what is the most conservative site on the web to seriously argue about his past actions.
Rove is the primary reason that GOP candidates have not fought back in 7 years. His history is rock solid in proof.
