I don't remember seeing another primary with no postings here, so figured I'd post this because I'm curious to learn if there were any establishment/TeaParty battles, and if so...who won??
It's weird...so far as I can tell the AZ Secretary of state doesn't post election results - or at least I couldn't find them. They're on AZCentral.com - but we can't link to that here on FR!
Hank
9 had five or six legitimate candidates. The apparent winner, Vernon Parker, is the former mayor of Paradise Valley. A strong conservative who happens to be black. He’d be a welcome partner to Allen West in kicking some ass at the Congressional Black Caucus.
The district is a competitive one, unlike most in Arizona, and he’ll have a fight on his hands in November.
Russell Pearce lost in his primary to Robert Worsley, latest numbers are 56 to 44 percent.
Arizon? Proofreading deters embarrassing mistakes in headlines.
An interesting side note is that the young lade who is filing this article for CNN is a former Fulbright scholarship recipient with research completed on the Armenian massacre. There is an interesting article about her here: http://www.baylor.edu/mediacommunications/news.php?action=story&story=58513
My district, CD3 is currently represented by that communist/reconquista asswipe RAÚL GRIJALVA. His conservative opponent this time is GABRIELA SAUCEDO MERCER.
GOOD LUCK, Gabriela!!!
>> SO...can any of our Arizona friends tell us if these are good results or not?
Yeah, given the alleged GOP-e and TEA agreement.
My mother is there and I go home 4-5 times a year. As I understand, Flake was the strong choice to win the general, and the others weren’t.
Is Arizon part of that land mass between Los Angeles and New Orleans?
According to the Mojave Valley News FR’s own Hildy won her primary contest for a County Supervisor spot against incumbent Tom Sockwell, No results were given.
She doesn’t have an opponent in the general.
Which State is Arizon? Anyway we all make mistakes, maybe the admin or mods can change the title and after that just delete my post...
Sure, it's another notch on Sarah Palin's endorsement belt, but Flake was one of the few House Republicans to call out the drunken spenders of his own party during the early Bush years. He rejected the leadership's claim the budget was, in Tom DeLay's infamous statement, fat free. Jeff Flake also wanted to offset the borrowing for Katrina relief but the leadership wouldn't even allow it to come up for debate. On fiscal issues, he'll make a welcome addition to the U.S. Senate.
Palin-endorsed Paul Gosar won in District 4; her choice in District 5, Kirk Adams, did not succeed against the incumbent Republican.
Going two for three isn't bad.
