Note that he didn’t actually win all those places. And it is hard to imagine how he could have a plurality of Nevada delegates, given that Mitt Romney won 20 of the 28 delegates. Sadly, though Gingrich beat Paul for 2nd place, he didn’t manage to get ANY delegates.

Of course, what happened was that Paul managed to get his supporters elected as “Romney” delegates. And while they were bound to vote for Romney in the 1st round, they are claiming that they still have the right to nominate Ron Paul, because that isn’t a “vote”.

This is part of what caused the battles today, as Romney looked to replace delegates that were bound to him but were actually opposed to him. It’s an absurd way to pick delegates, to allow delegates to lie at caucuses and then attack their own supposed candidate at the nominating convention.
