There is a sixty percent chance that Republicans will rain on your weekend plans.
The Weather Channel hasn't yet gone quite that far to inject politics into weather reporting but they sure seem to be working on it. Their reporting on Tropical Storm Isaac has brought out the inner liberal of a channel that was once noted for its complete professionalism but, sadly, seems to be going off into political tangents completely unrelated to the weather. In the first example, they republish a highly biased Associated Press article on their Weather Channel site which touches on Tropical Storm Isaac but quickly devolves into not so subtle slams on Republicans. While reading this, you need to continuously pinch yourself as a reminder that it is actually on The Weather Channel website:

Yep. They’ve been on the MM global warming bandwagon forever, they’re watermelons.
Yeah, I saw it this morning. I think it was Cantore extolling the virtues of O’s FEMA and dissing Bush.
Can you say “Gore-ball Warming”?
Weather Channel blows with the prevailing wind and has been floating in the mainstream for quite some time.
You could have stopped after the third word.
They bought Wunderground . com (not linking) just a few weeks ago and are fast in to ruin it. But the owner is a global swarming douchebag who will look back in a year and say ‘what happened?’.
They have been for a long time.
They are firmly head up butt for global warming propaganda.
Isaac won’t be anywhere near Katrina in power and destruction, but they sure have been implying it’ll be real bad.
Nagin isn’t around to sit on his butt before fleeing to another state, is he?
TWC has been political for a long time. Weren’t they bought by NBC a short time back? I turned them off when Dr Heidi Cullen went on a witchhunt against those peers who would not subscribe to the Global Warming theories (fantasies).
They bought wunderground? Crap.
I stopped watching TWC because of the ‘news’ feeds from PMSNBC.
The global warming programs were a result of company policy, but antics like this often come from twenty-something interns who don't know anything but the propaganda they learned in college.
One person has a passionate opinion, and the others (who might not have done the same thing themselves) don't actually disagree and aren't going to protest.
But, no, they aren't actually affiliated with the Weather Underground ...
Weather Channel blows.
TWC has been showing stock photo’s of flooding in between radar and the new “simulated radar” projections. About an hour ago they showed a stock photo of some flooding in a SC retail store featuring a kyiak being used inside the store, as they went to commercial the anchor exclaimed “Oh My the damage from Isaac is really being felt far and wide”.
Do they even do weather any more? Everytime I flip by the channel it’s some show vaguely related to weather. “Turbine Cowboys” WTF does that have to do with the weather.
Though Republicans are intent on turning the campaign's focus back to the nation's sluggish economic growth and high unemployment, a comment Romney made on abortion reintroduced a topic that had taken over campaign discussion last week. In a CBS interview, he said he opposes abortions except "in the case of rape and incest, and the health and life of the mother."
WTF does abortion and a CBS interview have to do with "the Weather"?
24 hour propaganda, statist run media.
Left-turd propaganda. I get my weather off the internet.
The Weather Channels lies and deceives viewers ...
Saturday, August 25.
Repeatedly Saturday afternoon TWC ran reports where they discussed the elevations above Sea Level of The Tampa Sites involved in the RNC.
The Convention Center, 4 ft
The Forum, 6 ft
The Marriott Hotel, 6 ft, and the
Embassy Suites, 9 ft
The used feet above sea level in these graphics.
TWC then moved on to use sea level rise graphics that showed penetration into the city streets of Tampa of flood water.
These charts are also visible on the web with Google, etc.
These charts are on the web IN METERS not feet. TWC graphics labeled web graphics that portrayed METERS 2,4,6 as FEET 2,4,6. This made it look like Tampa had hundred of blocks under water. Yet, TWC said 6 feet when the graphic was truly showing a 6 METER contour.
What a load of crap, that they have never corrected. Scare everyone with lies.
Did Seidel take the Cubano pool boy back to his posh hotel room “to protect him” as a “gracious” visitor might do?
