You know what would be good? A liquid at room temperature/pressure hydrocarbon mixture consisting of branched units in the roughly six to nine carbon range, that could be dispensed from conventional pumps, burns cleanly in properly maintained engines, can be stored in mundane plastic or metal containers, doens't attack butyl rubber hoses and seals, and has a tremendous energy density compared to other conventional chemical fuels. You know, kinda like gasoline. Unfortunately the government itself has been tireless using every trick to convince people otherwise, and if that doesn't work, just make it unaffordable.

You know what else would be good? If the government were to put a massive amount of resources into an effort to find a powerful source of energy produced with a natural resource which we have in abundance right here in the United States. If they were to gather together the greatest minds in science and engineering to accomplish this task. Kind of a
Manhattan Project.
Oh wait, the government already did that. They called it the Manhattan Project.
