Yesterday, Michael Duncan reported at Freedom Works on a brewing fight in the rules committee of the RNC. Essentially, the Rules Committee is trying to disenfranchise grassroots groups by allowing the party nominee to dismiss delegates and silence opposition. Buzz Feed explained this new rule:

How can third party succeed in taking on two parties, if we cant take over one party???
Your only option is to let that party die while making a new one.
Others have pointed out that this doesn’t take affect this year.
If true, that’s different. I’d like to see.
scripted, poll tested, nonsense that any American can see through in about 10 seconds. Its just a commercial.
Yea, it’s just a commercial. Now is the time for a united front. Polls are saying most people dont know Mitt Romney. And Mitt is trying to win over independents. The last thing you want is someone interupting your commercial saying our product is better. I’ve seen some of those Paultards and they appear mentally ill. They dont call them Paultards for nothing.
So we need a united front. So Romney picks an unnecessary fight with the Paulites. That makes sense to you?
Does it make sense to disrupt the convention? Ron Paul lost. He wasnt even close.
Whatever. We’re going to get control one way or another, reverse any such rules, and kick the scum to the curb.

No. They are a plague.
Michelle Malkin’s blog clears up some misconceptions that the protests are from Ron Paul supporters. This is beyond Ron Paul as RANK-AND-FILE delegates are up in arms about rules 12 and 15.
Click link below and read the updates. Lots of folks at the convention hall are pissed off at these blatant power grabs. The RNC leadership basically wants to circumvent state delegate procedures and have them replaced with candidate cronies (big check writers) as well as give the executive board “fiat” powers to change rules without the consent of the rank-and-file.
