After a week of Senate pick-up despair, thanks to Todd Akin's odd views of rape and reproductive biology, Republicans could use some good news. According to Real Clear Politics Senate races in seven states are currently in the toss up column. They are listed below with links to the candidates' web sites.
In addition, there are three states that are leaning GOP (compared to five that are leaning Democrat):
William Jacobson, of Legal Insurrection, has just written a piece that suggests that we may also be able to win Maine - a state the GOP had assumed was a loss.

Two weeks ago there were four.
I’m a little tired of these clowns trying to inject Akin into everything. Todd Akin is becoming the GOPe version of global warming.
Here In Michigan polls seem to be showing Pete Hoekstra up a bit over Debbie Stabenow as well.
“Two weeks ago there were four”
I think it’s was the Missouri seat.
The Fix Wash Post agrees.

Get rid of the turd Akin and we’ll win MO, too.
Hawaii is missing from the lists, where Linda Lingle could win.
Where is Florida??? It can’t be on the Democrat side!!
Surely Connie Mack will beat Bill Nelson....with the TEA Party’s help.....
The GOP is going to win 4-8 Senate seats this year. This constant daily hand wringing and hysteric about Akin is utterly stupid BS self defeating.
"Clowns to the right of me---jokers to the left." Yep, lots of "conservative" weenies here who willingly shoot their own foot so they can howl in righteous indignation when the bill comes due. Don't really get it, myself.
“The GOP is going to win 4-8 Senate seats this year. This constant daily hand wringing and hysteric about Akin is utterly stupid BS self defeating.”
It isn’t stupid at all. Whatever seats the GOP wins, it will be one less than it could have been if this turd Akin would just step aside. All the BS about him being the elected candidate, when you look at the numbers in the primary, suggest that he was just lucky (or McCaskill’s money) put him over the top. The idea that he somehow pulled off a landslide and to cast him aside would be to ignore a huge victory is just not borne out by the data. Getting a comfortable margin is important, particularly since the “other evil twin from Maine” will still be with us along with assorted RINOS on whom you can depend to be unsupportive on key issues.
Someone needs to offer Akin money and a lobbyist job.
The most disgusting race of all is Pennsylvania’s where “Little Bobby Casey”, arguably the single stupidest person ever to serve in the U.S. Senate, is going to win another six years.
Having considered Obama actually behind in-spite of polling for several months now....using my same grain of salt method, I’d say the Senate is ours.
North Dakota shouldn’t be a toss up, it should be a likely GOP pick up. Why is this even close? I thought the Dakotans got this out of their system.
What’s going on with Florida? The last couple of polls shows Mack down considerably. Is he really that bad a candidate? What happened to that guy who filled out Mel Martinez’ term? Didn’t he have a good voting record? I know he had a Crist connection, but I’m sure lots of Republicans did. There were signs for sure, but I doubt many thought Crist would be the wretch he has revealed himself to be.
Akin; I agree his treatment has been unfair. There is a double standard for Republicans, especially conservative ones. But Akin comes across as an idiot. Who’s to say if he somehow clawed his way back into the race thanks to McCaskill’s general awfulness that he won’t say something else monumentally stupid? McCaskill is not intelligent either, but she invested well in helping Akin win the nomination. It’s not fair. There is a double standard. But that’s the reality we live in, and I wish Akin could see past delusions about his importance and mission and step aside so someone electable could run.
I know Virginia is fast losing its status as a Southern state, but I think a better candidate would be leading Kaine. Allen too was attacked mercilessly by the media, but I don’t know about him anymore. Remember when he was once thought to be a likely presidential candidate some day?
Wisconsin is heartening though. As is Ohio, which seemed hopeless a short while ago. I’d love to see some more polls showing Michigan up for grabs.
There's no way on God's green earth that he's as dumb as Patty Murray.
>>>Little Bobby Casey, arguably the single stupidest person ever to serve in the U.S. Senate<<<
Oh you could have quite a contest on your hands in the ‘stupidest’ sweepstakes! lol
If the GOP starts using the term “War on Babies” we’ll easily take the Senate and the White House.
