More Americans rely on their families for assistance than the government, so federal officials have undertaken an effort to help people to apply for federal assistance.
Given that only 15 percent of you turn to government assistance in tough times, we want to make sure you know about benefits that could help you, USA.gov announced today. The government made easy website has created a help for difficult financial times page for people to learn more about the programs.
The government got that statistic from a poll asking Americans what helps them the most during tough times. Here are the results:
This is moral and political inversion. Because the government obtains funds to give this assistance by coercive taxation, the government, instead of being a protector of rights is now a violator of rights. Instead of encouraging production, it is encouraging parasitism. Instead of protecting men from the initiation of physical force, it is initiating force and coercion in any manner and issue it pleases.
I can only speak for me and my family, but outside of the Veterans Administration every time I have ever asked the government (federal or state-Wisconsin) I have got a grand total of zilch.
Now my church otoh helped me hang on to my house.
Tells you something does it not.
Oh, Bam, won’t you buy me a Mercedes Benz . . .
I am sick and tired of Social Security and Medicare being described as entitlements
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
Ditto!!
I started paying into SS in 1953 am now 72, NEVER used Medicare/medicaid, used VA once (’paid’ for that 8+ yrs USN),
Draw SS - started at 69 and had ‘double paid’ FICA since 1990.
How is it considered an entitlement when I was ‘forced’ to turn it over, I don’t make the rules etc...
BTW I remember ‘us’ sitting around in the early 70’s figuring we would NEVER see a penny of SS.
I’m still waiting for my check for $1 million.
tough to ask dad for help when you don’t know who he is.
Is it Claire Wolfe Time yet?

This is only a light crack of the whip above the heads of the “damned well better vote D voters”. A thinly veiled suggestion to them that unless their masters are supported in November they may lose those “supports” that they aren’t using enough of, according to the article.
Facts support that nearly 50% do not pay income tax and nearly that same percentage receive some form of federal payment, regardless of source. Some may have been partially contributed by the recipient, most not.
It’s the same old game the progressives have been playing since 1916. Reinforced by FDR with SS and amplified by LBJ with Medicare.
Get the majority of voters on the plantation and when anyone offers freedom and liberty as an alternative, lightly crack the whip above their heads to remind them:
“See how much better off you are when we are in charge? All we want to do is give you more as long as you send us back to D.C. If you vote for those other guys, they are gonna make you think for yourselves, make responsible decisions and maybe work a little for the opportunity to succeed. Now isn’t it much easier to just keep those votes and money flowing in the same direction, no questions asked? See you in November!”

If you look at the chart posted. Social security and Medicaid are NOT included in the total.
Chart posted in post # 10. Sorry.
What’s the matter? Not enough slaves or something?

America is $16 trillion in debt and the government is promoting government assistance! Many are qualifying for Social Security Disability because of “mood disorders.”
Are we not Americans?
