I dropped Tyson years ago. Not that I was a big consumer to begin with.
Still, they hire a lot of illegal labor.
Or, at least they did years past.

Unfortunatly, this is one of those jobs Americans refuse to do. We have a large chicken producer in central Wisconsin. Starting pay is great - over $13.00/hour. They can never find or keep help. I guess slaughtering chickens 8 hours a day gets old fast. And it’s much easier to sit back and live off the government.

Definitely not any more - at least not at the plant 3 miles from my house, which is their largest on the East coast. I know this because I applied for a job there.

Now, the contractors who grow the chickens are an entirely different story. The contract farmers I know are pretty picky, but we all know of others who do use illegals - which are plentiful in this county.
