WASHINGTON, Aug. 27 (UPI) -- The U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis is being rushed to the Persian Gulf as tensions between Israel and Iran edge closer to the boiling point.
The Nimitz class carrier, with an air wing of about 90 aircraft, sets sail Monday on an eight-month deployment to the region -- four months ahead of schedule.
In the gulf it will join the USS Enterprise Strike Group, giving the United States a powerful deterrent to any Iranian attack on commercial oil tankers in the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz or a counterpunch to Iranian military action against U.S. military facilities in the region or those of its allies.

If Obama starts something, he will fail just as horribly as Jimmy Carter did with the hostages.
Obama has helped load up the region with his buddies, the Muslim Brotherhood. It is Middle Eastern Chess Game. Chess.
Absolutely. We should have been packing up to come home just as Osama was getting his funeral at sea.
Has anyone ever beaten the Afghans?
What a pretty picture!
...when suddenly a Black Liberation Theologist walks up...
I wonder if the US, with Obama being CinC, leaves Israel not even wargaming with America being a support for Israel.
What with Muslim Brotherhood being Obama's best pals. They may wargame with this in mind...CinC being Obama.

It’s not even an issue of beating them....
If you beat all of them into submission and won their “heart and minds”, we’d still be left with a crappy, dusty, rocky, scum filled piece of rock....
Let’em have it....
“-—how much time “? Unless a ship is disabled for major work there is always a minimal operating crew available. If it is really REALLY important it’s a matter of pulling the gangplank and throwing off the lines. The dock tugs are never more than a couple minutes away. And it’s a nuke in this case so fuel is not an issue-—just start pulling rods. If industrial work is being done the yardbirds and their tools go along to the next stop and/or finish their work. Our fast ( Lewis and Clark) supply ships will catch up with them with groceries, jet fuel, movies and the ten thousand other consumables they normally use. Any sailors missing will catch up by air.————————————————————————————It’s a bit expensive to do it this way but if it’s IMPORTANT it will get done in minutes, not hours. Then visualize 100,000 tons of American Steel heading out at water skiing speed to the next clusterflock——it’s impressive as hell and remember this: no other country on earth can even come close and we can do it 12 times in a row.
Interesting thot but the Kamikazees never had to face a radar aimed Phalanx which is one of the carriers’ defenses. What’s left when the Phalanx gets thru can be picked up with a sponge and a vacuum,——if it floats.
I think this is BS. I live in Kitsap county, where she’s stationed... this deployment has been scheduled for a long time and isn’t being “rushed”.
Have you ever seen an Afgan? They are the definition of “beaten”. How else would you explain their overwhelming desire to remain in the non-flushing-toilet, 90% illiterate, goat eating, sister marrying, in-bred, butt dragging, fight-at-the-drop-of-a-hat, seventh century. That is what “beaten “looks like.
I'm waiting on the home version to use on Big Sis' drone fleet.
Obama’s going golfing in Qatar again?
Mine was supporting them on a destroyer last deployment.
Were you in Norfolk when they came back home? Freezing our behinds off?
I didn’t read that anybody refused to go. Do you not appreciate the fact that, although that’s what we get paid for - much more, what we are trained and prepared to sacrifice for - we are people with families, too, and having to say goodbye to our spouses and children 4 months before we thought we’d have to is a real heartbreaker? It sucks, and your statement is pretty callous, don’t you think?
But no better, either. I hear ya.
Not to mention broke. Most have a belly full of the mideast and their endless religious squabbles. No way this clown attacks anyone but Romney at this point.
Thanks Strategy.
