Ive heard these stories before about eastern block women fronting for gangs and such, taking advantage of lonely American men.
On the other hand I work with a guy who did this and is married to a russian and they have a beautiful baby, so go figure.
I know someone who married a drop-dead gorgeous woman from the Ukraine. He said he met her on a plane. hmmm... They’re still married and have at least one baby. Oh, and they have an extended family that moved here and he is supporting. LOL
That’s not their only scam. Eastern bloc (Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Albanian) gangs have been planting or bribing individuals working for maid services in the Chicago area in order to access homes and steal valuables. In Chicago and other parts of the country, they were involved in mortgage scams that cost victims (new home buyers or recently-arrived immigrants) and banks billions.
