Keep getting bigger.
Unusual.
It would scare the crap outta me to be anywhere near this right now!
The last comparable seismic swarm in Brawley dates from 1970. Another one occurred in the 1930′s - Some buildings in Brawley were evacuated after the first stronger quakes. People will probably stay outside for a while which is good in case other even stronger quakes would strike.
Not unusual - this is a very active region of the San Andreas, there are swarms every few months.
hate to quote yahoo. finally on drudge.
“Our system is choking on so many earthquakes.” (USGS seismologist)

California just unzipping. Pacific Plate heading North.
You are right. I was thinking it might loosen things up around the Indio-Palm Springs area.
Thanks for that link.
welcome
Looks like Hudson Ranch could be the source...
The swarm is not unlike that experienced with the geothermal plants in Iceland. Same range of intensity and frequency. Who the hell thought it was a good idea to put a geothermal plant on the AndreaS?.....Sheesh this energy is going to load the fault like nobody’s business.....sheesh. Has to be environmental whacko’s that thought this through.
The so-called “seismic swarm” is a relatively rare occurrence.
“We haven’t seen one of these since the 1970s, and there was another one back in the 1930s,” said USGS seismologist Lucy Jones.
“Our system is choking on so many earthquakes.”
From the story on Drudge.
up by clear lake (i think it’s around there), there is the geothermal plant. i produces quakes now and again, usually below 2.5.
that’s cool
here is the link to The Geysers thermo-plant north east of San Fran, south of Clear Lake. Impressive size.

Well at least they didn’t try to blame it on global warming or fracking yet...lol.
That’s coming I’m sure.
big one going off on the live cam.
Well at least they didnt try to blame it on global warming or fracking yet...lol.

Let me be the first to say,..........................IT’S BUSH’S FAULT!
Yeah the Geyser Plants is fine with me and certainly a producer of quakes...but as Iceland found out when they went online with a more expansive plant....well it wasnt pretty...lol
Again though where this one is located is just idiotic...lol
That's what I'm thinking. It's beyond fortunate for Cali to have dodged a major event for this long even without added stress, IMO.
Thanks,
Just saw that , wow, wonder how big?
