The Talk Shows
August 26th, 2012
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney and his wife, Ann.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Republican former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush; Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla.; Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus; Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn.; Republican former Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell, chairman of the Republican Platform Committee; Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, chairman of the Democratic National Convention.
STATE OF THE UNION (CNN): Priebus; Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, R-Texas; Gov. Scott Walker, R-Wis.
Thanks for the ping/thread, AB!
Bob McDonnell on ABC, discussing the Republican Platform: George S. asks about Charlie Crist statement dissing Repubs, and specifically talking about the “Akin amendment” in the platform. McDonnell defends Repubs, but focusses on economic problems.
George talks about no exceptions for rape in the platform - McDonnell says the details are left to Congress/states on how they ratify the “human life amendment”....George will not let it go. So.....McDonnell brings up obama’s positions on babies born alive during an abortion, etc.
Mayor Antonio Vi..somethingoranother - time to take out their positions on abortion in the platform especially since it does not make exceptions for rape and incest. (Side note - it is silly to refer to incest as a seperate condition, IMO. Incest IS rape...no need to seperate it out.)
It sounds like you need to try the Thunder Shirt! I don’t know if you’ve seen the ads for it, but maybe it would work for your poor doggie.
Isaac coverage has been fascinating, starting with the drive-bys rooting for the storm to cancel the convention. It’s not been much of a storm, but they continue to hype it. And now there’s a chance it could affect New Orleans later this week. Wouldn’t that be the irony of ironies as the convention winds down.
The timing should put the potential dangerous storm in the middle of nowhere in the gulf during the bulk of the convention, so it could draw some eyes to TV screens during the convention. A New Orleans hit would remind everyone of ‘heck-0f-a-job, Brownie’, but could present lots of challenges for Obie’s FEMA.
Let’s hope it stays as disorganized as it has been and proves once again that weather is not much more than DBM hype and political in nature. I wonder why we’re not seeing any reports from Cuba as a “major” TS is running along its entire northern coast without any apparent disasters. ???
So far, it’s a nothingburger storm. So far.
ABC talking about the middle class. McDonnell says obama wants to talk about Bain Capital and taxes because he doesn’t want to deal with his own record.
Mayor of LA, Antonio V. Ryan/Romney budget will rasise taxes on middle class. Regarding convention - expects Romney won’t be able to “etch-a-sketch” (lol and an eye-roll) their way out the campaign they ran during the primary.
McDonnell says it comes down to the Vision of Romney vs. record of obama. Facts are stubborn things. Results vs. rhetoric.
One thing I plan to do is watch every minute of the GOP convention and tell friends to watch it as well. The higher the ratings are the harder it will be for the networks to ignore the event.
Then Cain came on and he rocked the entire resort with over 200 in attendance. His 999 was mentioned as was the fact that we are BROKE need to stop spending make a budget and all the key things that many good conservatives would say.I sat next to a former Miami Herald exec. who also worked for the AP.He told me he was "converted" during John Kerrys run for office.Said he just couldn't take it any more.Today he's a great conservative.
I was allowed to present Cain one of my fishing rods at the end,Morgan may have some of the photos, don't know if they will work here or not. Cain vowed to return to fish with us. he's a great guy,big strong bold, very conservative. It was another night to remember along with last years Reagan dinner with Marco.
Mitt Romney gave such a great reply to Chris Wallace’s question, “how do you Feel about running for president”, that Wallace made a strange, involuntary sound of disgust or disappointment when he heard the answer.
Worth watching to see this moment.
Thanks Tom,NBC 6 just now announcing that we are about to get hit hard with a big storm in the next 5 or 10 minutes. If I lose the connection I will get back later.
I guess you never did get the memo, huh?
JimRob is now a "Romneybot". Obama the capitalism-hating, liberty-hating, America-hating Marxist must be destroyed!!
He is reluctantly for Romney due to Obama, just like the rest of us here. Yet you continued to insult us by calling us Romneybots, Romney-lovers, and liberals, never acknowledging our reasons or replies--it was all spam and insults, all the time. So do you now follow Jim Robinson around posting these comments? No. You wouldn't dare!
So take you one-dog show somewhere else.
That weathermap looks no worse than the bands of thunderstorm/potential tornadoes that we have been seeing all summer in the mid-Atlantic states.
Roundtable, ABC.
George Will - on Todd Akin - it is a considerable blow to the GOP if he remains the nominee. Does complicate winning the Senate.
Granholm - post Akin - it focusses attention on Repub. platform - forced Romney to distance himself from his party’s platform.
Mary Matlin - He may have dug in, but he won’t have a shovel to keep digging because of a lack of funding - Mary’s convinced we will get MO back one way or another, without Akin.
Rep. Donna Edwards - Repbs want to pretend Akin is an exception, want to run away from him, their platform.
All right, I’ll bite.
Because your reputation as a rabid anti-Romney type precedes you.
Or maybe you didn’t see that post by JimRob where he finally relented for us to vote how we must, that he loves his country too much to be part of any action that might have Obama re-elected.
Not that posts of Diogenesis would cause Romney’s defeat but for a sincere response let me say that I heard that.
Romney said that he is NOT going to eliminate Obamacare, he’s going to replace it.
He said that.
Chills went up my spine.
So let me be a Devil’s Advocate.
We need a national dialogue on health care. If I were to be elected president I’d appoint me a blue ribbon commission, a non-partisan, a logical and knowledgable group, no politicians, health care industry leaders....that sort of thing.
I’d bounce some notions off of the public. Because come on, this is America, we’re not going to let anybody suffer through an emergency without hospital help, we’re not going to have someone die slowly and painfully from cancer as any treatment is refused.
IF we accept this premise, and we do in our daily lives, then we have to pay for those getting free health care. Cause refusal to provide health care is not an option.
I have some thoughts on the matter but so does everyone else. It’s time for America to quit putting this issue under the rug. I say treat the illegal aliens but have them met at the door by border agents and send them right home after they’ve healed.
Not to mention the healthcare people have gone wild on their costs. Come on...my husband had a leg bypass....get this, it costs $260,000!
That’s just absurd. I heard that in some cases you can have a temporary “hospital” type of thing put in your yard and have round the clock care for the cost of an extended hospital stay.
And pharmacists! Some of my best friends are pharmacists but come on, they take pills from a big bottle and put them into a small bottle.
The other day I saw a commercial for a prescription cream that would stop hair from sprouting on womanly lips.
I sure do hate that and I pluck them with tweezers or have them professionally waxed off. But goodness, you’re serious? A prescription to remove lip hair?
That’s just a sneaky way of putting what is a beauty treatment through to coverage by health insurance or Part D Medicare.
How do you justify that lip hair is some kind of medical condition?
But make no mistake, Romney said he was going to REPLACE Obamacare, not eliminate it.
Scary.
I wonder what Noah would have thought had the government at the time told him “you didn’t build that”?
Great story bray.

The above link, right here of course,is where all the action is.I’m taking a lot of heat for suggesting that Akin get out but of course I’m biased,I JUST WANT TO WIN!!!(sorry for yelling)
The rest are concerned about anything and everything under the sun. You can peruse if you like. There is similar stuff on American Thinker, PJM,HOt Air,Red State and other sites. The left is trying to tie Akin to their war on women they have set up for us and unfortunately it appears to be working.
Seems we have been sucked into yet another rat trap....
the solution is realllly simple. Just get rid of Akin. Get Sarah in their with a new candidate, I believe a female candidate is in the wings just waiting for the call, and we can win this one!!
Sooner of later winning has to be # 1 for us instead of other concerns.Ya gotta wonder sometimes.
I’ve seen those things advertised and pondered trying one out.
In desperation, one time I manually made some sort of “thundercape”, based on the notion that dogs needs to be wrapped tight around their torsos to calm them.
Well it was okay but hey, it ain’t easy to have a dog wear something like that. She’s not used to it. Along with her terror of the thunderstorm she got scared bejeesus that here her humans were wrapping her up in swaddling clothes of some sort.....
.....MAYBE THEY WERE GOING TO BURY HER!
Heh.
Anyone else’s screen keep going to black in the Mitt/Ann interview ?
Thanks buddy,I’m actually enjoying a little precious time off.
