"Ever wonder why R. Lee Ermey only did one hysterical commericla for Geico? The "Full Metal Jacket" star says the insurance giant gave him a pink slip because of his political beliefs. Ermey famously bashed President Barack Obama in December 2010, saying his administration was trying to "impose socialism" on the American people and was "destroying the country."He apologized at the time for those comments, but the other day he told our photog that Geico fired him over the incident."

Ummmmmm -- I'm pretty sure I've seen his GEICO commercial more than once since December 2010. (For his marketing purposes, bashing Obama is no doubt a resume enhancer.)

Which just goes to show: Say what you mean, mean what you say, and never apologize.

What's with the obnoxious "ummmmmmm"? Ad campaigns are usually that--campaigns complete with multiple commercials of the same style or with a connecting theme. The fact that Ermy only did one spot (even though they air it more than once) is a result of them firing him and cancelling the campaign.
