You don't have to convince me or anyone that Akin's comments were ill-advised. But they were not illegal or immoral activity so the outrage from his own party is uncalled for. We definitely don't need everyone becoming little Karl Rover lapdogs who think they know exactly what candidates can and can't win elections.

Not to mention, I thought conservatives were supposed to be for local control and states' rights, not a centralized bureaucracy giving marching orders from the top down. This is a Missouri issue. Let the state exercise its rights and stop trying to force them to back one candidate or another. It's not the president's or a presidential candidate's job to select who a state nominates to be their own representative. I will back whichever Republican or conservative candidate the voters of Missouri back.

And where did I say they were illegal or immoral?

I did not.

All I was saying was that Todd Akin made grave political statements.

Statements that were so outlandish that caused him to go from a lead to now a 9 point deficit.
