1202!

"Roger, 1202 alarm. We're go, same type, we're go." There's a great story behind the 1201 and 1202 alarms during descent.

Neil was a National Treasure. The more you learn about his life, the smaller yours becomes.
I did get a laugh after reading the MSNBC announcement of his passing. I continued to read down through the comments section and discovered MSNBC had initially posted the story about “Neil Young” first man on the moon dies instead of “Neil Armstrong”.

Imagine if FOX had done this.

If memory serves me well didn’t you have your picture taken with Buzz Aldrin?

How in the world can people think it never happened? And why would they want to?

I remember it as though it was yesterday. I was in my very early twenties, and my husband and I had a couple of kids but no TV, so we listened to everything on the radio. Then later we saw it on news reports on the TV of friends.

It was goosebumps then and it’s goosebumps now.

Cue the state funeral, with Obama ‘Epic!’ speech, in the middle of the Republican Convention, to steal the RNC’s thunder...

On hearing the news my second thought was, "How will Obama use this to his advantage?'

RIP Neil Armstrong.

I felt bad when Alan Shepherd passed away.

I REALLY felt bad when Ronald Reagan Passed away.

But for some reason, this has really knocked me for a loop. I can’t quite explain it.

One of my favorite road trips is to hop on the Harley and go to Cape Canaveral.

I used to love Shuttle Launches and watched a few from my home in Florida, and one from Cocoa Beach...Awesome.

I have been following America’s Space program since 1961.

No way, Zero killed the manned space program. That right there shows his level of respect for it.

James May of British Top Gear, drove the replacement moon buggy for a episode once. He even made a comment that it was sad that future moon missions were cancelled.

This definitely brings a tear to my eye. What a humble Patriot! The moon landing happened the summer I turned 18. What a hopeful nation we were then! What a mess we are in now. Where is the next Neil Armstrong? Where are the humble, altruistic men of my youth? Romney/Ryan? I sure hope so!

He needs a state funeral, like a former president or other grandee. His was one of the great accomplishments of mankind.

Neil Armstrong was among the best that this country has ever produced. When it came time for NASA to pick an astronaut to be the first to walk on the moon, everyone already knew who the choice would be. The best mind, the best ability, and one of the most skilled pilots to ever step into a cockpit. Russia, Germany, Japan, France, England, could never have produced a Neil Armstrong. It may be a long long time before we ever have a true American Hero like this. And I almost weep when I look at his face, knowing what America once was.
