I was in NYC not long ago and there was this young cop just standing there near the Javitz Center...female,kinda cute...so I got talking with her,I asked her if she had ever heard of Car 54 and she said "no".I proceeded to sing the intro song for her.I was just in a silly mood,I guess.

Ohhhh GSC, this is very disturbing, because I am one of those few Americans (I think the numbers are few, lol) who likewise remember ALL the words and the melody of the theme from 'Car 54', it is actually a very unique slice of Americana because the line 'Khrushchev's due at Idlewilde' refers to a time BEFORE that airport was renamed 'Kennedy International' post JFK-assassination. And few people seem to know that Fred Gwynne went on to play Herman Munster and that Al Lewis likewise went on from Car 54 to 'The Munsters'.
Ahhh, life's grand pageantry, lol
