Mine is a Springfield XD 45 cal, and it too absorbs the recoil, with some movement back towards my body, then right back on target for the double tap.

I second the motion. These things must be treated with magic pixie dust before leaving the factory.

Despite a higher bore axis, XDs consistently gave me more accurate "double taps" than any of my Glocks. So much so, that I immediately traded off three different Glocks for equivalent Springfields.

I get the same performance from my Taurus 45 ACP DS, but it’s a little big for most concealed carry situations. Has a 13 +1 capacity too. I’m afraid to try the XD, I’m afraid I’ll like it and I have a weakness for 45s.
