Many states don't have a sore-loser law. That's one of the reasons someone might not know about them.

Combining a sore-loser law with open primaries is going to serve up an idiot on a regular basis. Probably explains what's wrong with Missouri's Democrat politicians as well.

I'd encourage you to fix the problem
