We will see with time whether Missouri voters consider a verbal gaffe, which has no effect on their personal lives and interests, is more important than the actual record of McCaskill who supports Obama's policies that are inimical to their personal interests. A month from now, reality may sink in, the current media hysteria not withstanding.
With Akin on the ballot, this won't be the question. Women and Independents will vote for McCaskill rather than for the guy who stuck his foot in his mouth. Elections are often about emotional decisions and Akin made up quite a few emotional minds. Reason, logic, other issues no longer matter and that's the point.
