Imagine during world war II, by some fluke, a guy named Nakamura wins the White House with an agressive campaign funded from questionable sources. Nakamura claims to be “an American”, but attempts to investigate his background are well hidden. Our military is slowly island hopping across Japanese occupied islands, but the battles seem pointless and protracted, while the military gives classes on how to properly address someone using the proper japanese diminutive style. Japanese cultural advisors are sent to all fronts giving lessons dictated from the Pentagon. Rumors swirl, his detractors are called “rice balls” for questioning Nakamura’s loyalty. The US surrenders to Imperial Japan in 1948 amongst much fanfare, and Nakamura’s supporters hail him as a new kind of peacemaker. Now look around.

And no fair using flame throwers to burn out Japanese hidden in caves in the Pacific islands; instead send in our troops.
