Completely untrue. Other candidates were polling well above McCaskill just 2 weeks back, and Brunner and Steelman both have campaign ready to let her rip and win.
They obviously did not poll above Akin
Of course....you probably do not want to mention Steelman’s 60% ACLU rating (Akin 0%) or Brunner being supported by the Chamber of Commerce (he is better on Amnesty than Akin).
Appears Missourians are smarter than the Liberal GOP
“They obviously did not poll above Akin”
YES THEY DID. Brunner and Steelman ran stronger than Akin against McCaskill, even before the blowup that has ruined Akins’ chances. Both had double the lead that Akin had in the Aug 1 Ras poll.
The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Missouri Voters shows State Treasurer Sarah Steelman and retired businessman John Brunner each leading the incumbent 49% to 43%. If the race is between McCaskill and GOP Congressman Todd Akin, its Akin 47%, McCaskill 44%.
McCaskill ran ads to help Todd Akin beat the other two:

It paid off: Now Akin trails by 10, post gaffe ...

- McCaskill earning 48% support to Akins 38%.
Akin is now UNELECTABLE and the race is now “solid Democrat win”:
